The Buck Brannaman Saddle

This saddle is the official endorsed saddle by Buck Brannaman. It meets his specifications for a saddle that fits most horses, as he rides hundreds of horses each year. This saddle has a handmade tree by Kent Frecker after the original design of Tom Dorrance. It has a 4 1/2" guadalajara horn, a 4 1/2" round cantle, a flat plate rigging with stainless steel hardware, 5" monel stirrups with heel blocks, Oregon crossover rope strap, a rawhide hobble ring, mulehide horn wrap, and alum tanned latigo strings.

The seat size and stirrup length will vary according to customers size. These saddles weigh between 40 to 45 lbs. They are great traditional working saddles handmade one at a time the old fashioned way.

Lighter Weight Buck Brannaman Saddle

We've taken our regular Buck Brannaman saddle and trimmed it down. Starting with the tree, the bars are slightly thinner, the horn is 3 1/2" in diameter and the cantle is 4" tall.

We have been very careful to keep the strength and fit of the tree the same as our regular Buck Brannaman saddles. We have used a lighter skirting leather, and have trimmed down the jockeys, skirts, and stirrup fenders. Also, we have used 2 1/2" stirrup leathers and have gone to a 4" stirrup. The end result is a good quality saddle around 30-32 lbs. We have also made the billets with sleeves for easy removal so when you don't need a rear cinch or billets they are easy to remove, making the saddle another 4 lbs lighter.
